The department current has three media carts available for check-out from the cage. Each media cart comes with an XGA (1024 x 768) projector. Two include a MacMini with the same software build as the Visual Language/TIME labs. One of the carts is designed to be used with your own computer. All three media carts include speakers.

Media Cart #1.

This cart includes an NEC VT695 projector (XGA, 1024 x 768) and Edirol audio monitors. It does not come with a computer. Use this cart when you are using with your own laptop or video player. Don’t forget to check out the appropriate Mac to VGA cable adapter, since the cart comes only with a standard VGA projector cable.

Media Cart #2.

This cart includes a Mac Mini connected to a Mitsubishi XD430U projector and Edirol audio monitors. Please don’t re-wire the cart, it’s designed for “plug-and-play” usage. If you need a custom configuration, use Media Cart #1.

Media Cart #3.

This cart includes a Mac Mini connected to an ASK Proxima projector and Edirol audio monitors. Please don’t re-wire the cart, it’s designed for “plug-and-play” usage. If you need a custom configuration, use Media Cart #1.

Media carts may be checked out by faculty for use in class or by students with Faculty approval.

If you need to show a DVD, you can use the DVD player in the Macintosh. Please do not insert DVDs with press-on labels into the MacMinis, they have been known to damage the slot loading DVD drives.

If you need to show a VHS tape, you can check out a VHS deck from the cage and use Media Cart #1
