When approached with the task of mapping out the Garden Lab mural, the class decided to explore endangered and invasive plant life. The class chose plant like that was engaging or significant to each student based on place of birth, ancestry, or place of interest. We researched and documented the origins, behaviors, habitats, and visual characteristics of each species. After discussing each individual’s plan, we expressed each of our plants in personally preferred media and style. The class brainstormed as a group to formulate a backdrop, which would render each individual’s vision congruent as a whole. To unify each style we created an abstracted map to show each plant’s origin.
